Tom Cleverley is looking on the bright side of his career, despite missing Manchester United s concession of the title to Manchester City.
But since that dramatic climax, Cleverley has featured for Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics, made England international appearances in World Cup qualifiers and has also made an impact for United on the domestic front.
Playing for Manchester United, Great Britain and England all in one summer I am living the dream, he said.
The midfielder spent a large part of last season on the sidelines but insists he is fit again to compete for the Premier League title.
He told Times of India: It was a frustrating time. It always is if you are injured. You can t do what you love doing. But I am not thinking about that now. I am just getting my head down and hoping to play as much football as possible for United.
Everyone one is determined to win the trophy back; we don t want (Manchester) City to do it again.
The Englishman has also expressed his excitement at facing Wigan Athletic, a team with whom he spent the 2010-11 season on loan.
The 23-year-old has praised his former side, for whom he made 25 appearances: I learned a lot at Wigan, playing alongside players from lots of different countries. And I ve got a lot of respect for the club and the manager.
He (Roberto Martinez) is a very good manager. He lives and loves football and knows everything about all the other teams. He was fantastic for me and I wasn t surprised when they stayed up last year. I know what he can do.
